Week of January 22nd

Thursday

REMINDERS:

Free Dress Down tomorrow as a thank you from Mrs. Bartone for all the Get Well wishes.
SS brochures due tomorrow.
Catholic Schools Week Family papers due tomorrow.

Because the students were working so hard on ELA and Math today, I agreed to postpone the Wordly Wise test until Tuesday.

The only homework for tonight is to write a 4-5 paragraph essay using all the information we have been gathering in class.

The topic is to Explain how Suds changed from the beginning of the story to the end.

We outlined the steps:

1) Suds didn't want to be a 4th grade rat.
CHANGE - Suds decided to attempt to be a rat because he wanted Judy Billings to like him.
2) Joey trained Suds as a rat, but Suds failed at everything and Joey said he was a failure as a rat
CHANGE - Judy embarrassed him in the lunchroom and the bully pulled his chair out and dumped him on the floor. Everyone laughed at Suds.
3) Suds snapped and went on a rampage. He became a real rat.
CHANGE - Judy abandons Suds in a tree. He has time to think.
4) Suds decides that a rat isn't who he really is.

Students are to do a rough draft in their RRJ.

Wednesday Homework -
Progress reports went home. Please sign and return. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Also - Catholic Schools Week Family Day papers went home yesterday. Please return as soon as possible but no later than Friday.

When Suds wanted to be an angel.
Suds attempting to learn to be a rat (in order to win Judy Billings)
Suds becoming a rat for real (after being embarrassed by Judy and Gerald Willis).
Suds deciding that he is not meant to be a rat.
