Week of September 20th

No written weekend homework.
Re-read the Readers Theater play and decide which scene you want to work on.

Reminder - the spell/check fundraiser papers are due Monday (the 27th) Spelling test isn't until October 13th.

TERRA NOVA testing begins next Tuesday (28th) and continues all week. Makeups will be the following week.

Have a great weekend.
Thanks to all for your help with the Walk-a-thon. We had 100% participation!
Also, please note that the NUT cards are different. They're attached to your child's prize pack.

REMINDERS:

Friday is the Walk a Thon.

Students should wear their gym uniforms.
A slice of pizza will be provided for lunch. If you usually eat more than once slice, you might want to bring some extra lunch.

Also - please remember that Mr. Tom asked for you to bring in pictures of your pets for us to put into a collage to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Of course if you don't have a pet, you don't need to bring a picture.

Book orders are due next Tuesday if you are ordering.

Thursday Homework:

Read for 15 minutes and record on log. Continue to look for text to self (T-S) connections in what you are reading and record them on post-its. We'll work more with them in class tomorrow.

Religion - During Mass today, Fr. Victor talked to us about the importance of being prophets by helping one another to do the right thing. In your Religion notebook, write a paragraph on your thoughts about this. Do you think it is a helpful idea? Do you think there will be problems? How might we resolve the problems peacefully? Share your honest thoughts.

Word Study - study the Chapter 1 words.

Science - Record your observations of an ice cube the same way we did the shell in class. Remember to use your senses. Allow the ice cube to sit for 20 minutes and observe the changes.

Wednesday

Read for 15 minutes and record on log. Look for text to self (T-S) connections in what you are reading and record them on a post-it.

Religion - read pages 20 - 23 and do the 2 activities.

Math - finish page 3 in workbook

Word Study - finish page 3. Remember to choose the two parts that go best together and write them into a sentence in your notebook.
