COACH Math - Lessons 3 and 4.


Thursday Homework -


Read for 20 minutes.
Math - division sheet
Religion - On the white paper, draw your favorite scene from the movie. On the index car, write a paragraph telling what is happening in your picture.
Wordly Wise  - Lesson 9D and study for test.



Editing to add the response I put in the comments about the Religion test -

You only have to know about the first three commandments showing love of God and the last seven showing loving others. You do also need to know the Great Commandment and the new commandment Jesus gave on the cross.

You do not need to know the ten commandments now as we will be doing each one individually in the next 10 lessons.Wednesday Homework -

Weekend Homework

It's that time - weekend test prep homework begins.

I asked the students to get a Math test prep notebook. This work should be done in there but it can be done on looseleaf if you don't have a chance to get a notebook right away.

COACH Math book - Lesson 1 and 2.
These are reviews of topics the students should have mastered in 3rd grade.

Please let me know if there are any problems.

Thursday Homework -

Read for 20 minutes.
RRJ Questions -

a.  When you choose teams for a sport or gym activity, would you rather pick them yourselves or have the coach do it? Why?

b.  If you were forced to decide right now what career you would study in the future, what would choose? What skills would make you good at that career? What is a career you would definitely not choose?

Think Reading - pages 47 - 51.
Math - textbook page 160 # 1-29 odd and # 30 in notebook. Study for test.
Wordly Wise - 9A


Wednesday Homework -

Read for 20 minutes.
Religion - reread pages 96 - 103 and do activities.
Think Reading - pages 44 - 46.
Math - textbook page 156 # 1-8 in notebook. Remember to come ready to ask any questions you have for Friday's test.

Tuesday Homework -

Read for 20 minutes.

RRJ – Write a scene in your RRJ that shows  Annabeth telling Grover about the scene with Clarisse in the bathroom. Write it like a play.

Wordly Wise – 8 E and study for tomorrow’s test.

Study Fun and Fascinating Facts on page 65 for extra credit

Math – workbook.  Choose either page 49 or 50 depending on which you can do. Or do both for extra credit.

Monday Homework -

Math Packet:

1)      Do the 12 problems on the first page using the traditional method.

2)      Do the same 12 problems using lattice to check your answers.

3)      Make up lattice problems for the remaining blanks.

Wednesday Homework -

Read for 20 minutes. You may read The Lightning Thief but if you're finding that too difficult, read something else for homework. We will continue to do The Lightning Thief as our Read Aloud book each day.

Monday -
Please be sure to read the notices that went home today.

Read for 20 minutes. Try reading in The Lightning Thief and see if you can read it easily or if it is too difficult.
Social Studies - Read pages 40 - 44 and do sheet.

Math - sheets  (Do on sheet or on looseleaf.)  Some of the problems may be a bit difficult (particularly #s 2, 5, and 6) so try your best. People may have different answers so we'll compare them and see if there can be more than one right answer.

Gym tomorrow.

REMINDER - What St. Ephrem means to me essays are due tomorrow.

Christmas Break homework -
I'm really sorry to have to give homework over the break, but we need to do some test prep.

Math - COACH book - do Practice Test 1 - Sessions 1, 2 and 3. (This covers pages 13 - 26.)

Do Session 1 on the answer sheet I gave you. Do Sessions 2 and 3 on looseleaf.
Remember - circle or put a star next to any problem you don't know how to solve.


ELA - Book 1 - circle the answers in the booklet and copy onto the answer sheet. You may underline, highlight or write anything in the books that will help you choose the best answer.

Book 3 is a writing practice. Please do all work in the booklet.

Parents -

Each session of the work should take no more than 50 minutes to an hour.
Please do not help with the answers as this is a way for me to judge where we stand with progress.
