Re-read chapters 1 – 3 of James and the Giant Peach.
Answer question in RRJ:
Think about the scene where James meets the old man in the garden. How would you react if that happened to you? How would you feel? What would you do?
Read Chapter 4 of James and the Giant Peach.
In RRJ – How is the way James acted similar to or different than the way you said you would react?

Please return the Phys Ed form by tomorrow or Mrs. D will not be able to let your child participate. Most have them in; just a few to go. I reminded those children today.

RRJ -Pretend you are James (from James and the Giant Peach) and write a diary entry in your RRJ telling your thoughts about your life. You can make up how you think he feels or use info from the part of the story we read today. It's up to you. Be creative!

Lots of notices went home today (something like 9!). Please return emergency forms and gym health forms as soon as possible.

RRJ - write a letter to me about the book you are reading. Is it a good fit for you? Think about what we discussed about I PICK:
Your book
P = Your purpose in reading it - Are you reading it for fun, to learn something, to do a report?
I = Your interest - Is this book about something that interests you?
C = How is your comprehension of the book? Do you understand what you're reading?
K = Do you know the words? Try the five finger rule. Are there more than 5 words on a page that you can't pronounce or don't know the meaning.
